The least-scoring team, the best defense… Here are the key stats so far
As the fourth matchday of the Champions League begins, it’s time to take a look at which players are standing out, which teams are close to qualification, and which ones need points to stay alive.
- Out of the 36 teams in the league phase, only five have won all their matches so far: PSG, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Arsenal, and Real Madrid. Interestingly, PSG and Bayern will face each other this week at the Parc des Princes in one of the biggest clashes of the round.
- Inter and Arsenal are the only teams that have not conceded a single goal. Inter has managed two clean sheets away from home, while Arsenal achieved the same with two home matches and one on the road.
- Ajax and Benfica are still without a single point. Ajax has been beaten heavily in two of its three games, while Benfica has struggled to recover since its opening loss to Qarabag, followed by defeats to Chelsea and Newcastle.
- Kairat Almaty, Olympiacos, Pafos, and Ajax are the least productive attacks in the competition, with only one goal each. That, combined with other issues, explains Ajax’s difficult moment in Europe.
- The top scorers so far are Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé with five goals each. Real Madrid has scored eight goals in total, showing just how decisive the French forward has been for the team.
- The assist leaders are Achraf Hakimi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with three each. Aubameyang has been key for Marseille, creating half of their six goals in this Champions League.
- The player with the most yellow cards is Martín Zubimendi. The Spanish midfielder has been booked in all three of his appearances for Arsenal so far.
As the group stage heats up, every match counts. The race to the knockout rounds is wide open, and the smallest details could make all the difference.
